Curious about bouldering but never quite made it through the doors? This is your sign.

Set Wild is hosting a free social event at Avid Climbing in Ipswich, and you’re invited.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try climbing but didn’t have anyone to go with, or you’re already a seasoned crusher who loves a good social session, this evening is all about relaxed vibes, friendly faces and giving it a go.

New to Bouldering?

Perfect. Bouldering is climbing on shorter walls without ropes, with soft mats below. It’s problem-solving, movement, and a surprising amount of laughter.

The brilliant instructors at Avid will be on hand to help, offer tips, and give you the confidence to get started. No experience needed — just a willingness to try.

Already Climb?

Come along for a social session, meet other outdoorsy folk and enjoy a relaxed climb without any pressure. It’s a great chance to connect with the Set Wild community off the trail.

Moral Support Guaranteed

Fee and Jenny — your ever-supportive Set Wild guides — will be there too. Expect encouragement, questionable demonstrations, and at least a few giggles. We’re all about creating a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable, whether you top out or stick to cheering from the sidelines.

Not Keen on Climbing?

That’s absolutely fine. Avid Climbing has an amazing café, so you can grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy a chat.

This is a relaxed, friendly social — no pressure, no expectations, just a chance to try something new or share something you love with good people.

Come solo. Come with a friend.
We’ll meet you at the wall 💛

You don’t need to be brave - just brave enough to say yes

You’ve probably been thinking about this longer than you realise.
Saving the post. Clicking the link. Wondering if you’re that kind of woman.

Set Wild is for the women who feel the pull — even while the doubts are still there.

Is this for me?

If you’re even asking that question, the answer is probably yes.

This ramble is designed for women who:

  • Want time away from noise, responsibility, and routine

  • Love the idea of the outdoors but don’t want anything extreme

  • Are craving connection — without pressure or small talk

  • Might be nervous, but know they need this

You don’t need to be the fittest, the loudest, or the most confident person in the group.

You just need to come as you are.

FAQ

  • Of course. Some people come solo, but everyone leaves as friends. Whether you're solo or with your best mates, by the end of the walk you'll feel part of something bigger than your original group.

  • 18+. We typically get a mix from mid-20s to mid-60s, but any women over 18 are more than welcome!

  • Just give it a go! We’ll be there to support and cheer for you, and if you try and don’t like it, there’s coffee and cake and chat!
