ABOUT US

[ About ]

We're Paul and Fiona, and we're that couple who can't resist a good outdoor adventure. Between us, we've wild swum in Scottish lochs, paddleboarded down countless alpine rivers, cycled through some of Britain's most stunning countryside, and explored waterways from Cornwall to the Highlands. Years ago, we discovered campervanning as the ultimate way to chase adventures across the UK – waking up by the coast one day, in the mountains the next. That freedom to explore led us to launch Set Wild, helping others experience the same magic we fell in love with.

Founding
Set Wild

We're Paul and Fiona. Between us, we've wild swum in remote Welsh streams, hiked across Scandinavian mountains, scuba dived in tropical waters, and climbed in the Brecon Beacons. We know what it feels like to be fully alive outdoors - that particular clarity that comes from cold water, physical challenge, and being completely present in your body.

But we also know the reality of modern life. The mental load of organizing anything beyond your daily routine. The gear you don't own. The locations you don't know. The worry about whether you're fit enough, prepared enough, experienced enough. Add kids to the mix and the barriers feel overwhelming. We've lived all of this ourselves, and we've watched countless people want adventure but never quite make it happen because the logistics feel overwhelming.

That's exactly why we created Set Wild. We handle absolutely everything - accommodation, meals, equipment, expertise, even building the community so you're not walking into a weekend alone. We know Essex and Suffolk intimately: the hidden swimming spots, the trails that feel properly wild despite being close to home, the exact combination of challenge and comfort that shifts someone from "I'm not outdoorsy" to "I'm absolutely capable of this." When you guide someone through their first wild swim, watch them summit a hill they didn't think they could climb, see friendships form around a campfire - that's transformation. That's what we're after. Not just access to adventure, but the complete experience that proves to people what they're actually capable of when someone removes every barrier and just lets them show up.
